Doing it the Hard Way: Setting up an Animation Studio Outside the Capital

Animation Forum West Midlands | BSeen
The Studio, 7 Cannon St, Birmingham, B2 5EP
7pm, Tuesday, 1st March 2011
In the follow-up to our immensely popular Curtis Jobling event in January, Animation Forum WM and BSeen once more invite you to The Studio in Birmingham for some practical tips on setting up an animation studio.

Niel Bushnell
worked as an animator on features Space Jam and Lost in Space before establishing award-winning Newcastle-based animation and VFX studio Qurios in 2002.

He’ll be on hand to share his experiences of establishing an animation business with Doing it the Hard Way: Setting up an Animation Studio Outside the Capital on Tuesday 1st March 2011 (7pm start) at The Studio, Birmingham.

The event is free to attend, includes a free first drink and is open to animators and designers of all levels, or indeed anyone interested in establishing a studio-based business.

There’ll be an opportunity to ask questions at the end of the talk, plus the chance to chat with fellow animators in the fantastic surroundings of the The Studio’s city centre rooftop bar and restaurant.

Directions to the venue can be found here.

The event, assembled by AFWM and BSeen – an entrepreneurship programme for Birmingham-based final year students and graduates – is the second of two joint events in early 2011 looking to help young animators on their way into their career.

To attend the event, please RSVP to our Eventbrite page. Updates for the event will also be posted on the Facebook event page.
