Gifted and Talented BBC Broadcast Bootcamp, is finally here taking place next week at the NTI Birmingham within the half term week. The programme re-launched by Birmingham City University, is part of the West Midlands Excellence Hub and sees students in Year 9 and 10 gain the opportunity to learn key journalistic and broadcasting skills, with one of the biggest public broadcasting organisations in the world- the BBC.
This collaboration between the BBC and Birmingham City University offers students the chance to gain first-hand information from highly respected professionals who understand the industry and can share their experiences and skills with the next generation of radio & journalism.
This week long workshop shall give the students practical experience to explore the wonderful world of journalism and radio using highly technical equipment; taught by two of Birmingham City Universities industry skilled lecturers. Throughout the 5 day programme, each student will gain knowledge and skills in audio production, writing skills, team building, and working to deadlines plus much more!
By the end of the week, the student participants will produce a 3-5 minute radio feature which will be given to them, as well as appearing on the BBC website and being uploaded on to iTunes store for people to download.
